DSDN 104 - Final Iterations and Hero Model

Well the final rendered 81 iterations. The layout was kind of a abstract tornado shape on its side with the point being the bottom/ far left. I wanted the main light focus to be on my final on the left drawing your eye to that. I also kept them close together because a tornado it quite compact and wanted them to be in a nice group.

My final rendered Hero Model. I had some major major problems with my material when rendering this. It wouldnt let me add the certain material i wanted but after several hours i managed to get it to work and came up with this render. I wanted emphasis on the slight shadow in the background to show what shear size it can have compared to what it may seem from far out and the the light showing the detail of the twist within the core going up the centre.

DSDN 104 - Trial Hero Model

Quick trial with the hero model and i quite like the shadow effect happening. It gives it a sense of power and being twisted as well as making it look more dominant and as if its got a mind of its own.

DSDN 104 - Trial Layout and Render

Trial and error with the rendering now. I like the layout similar to a tornado shape or a curve type object but the lighting is too much because you can hardly see the models in the middle of the scene as well as the reflection that is being caused off the plane. Off to try it again...

DSDN 104 - 81 ITERATIONS

Aside from all the different materials and colours that are happening i have got all 81 iterations! Now time to lay them out...

DSDN 104 - 70th Model

Again with the more points i have added it gave me more of a different upward twist rather than skewing it around itself. Almost at 81 and my models are looking clearer to establishing my final.

DSDN 104 - 50 Iterations

Have finally reached 50! I've started to add more polys to these later models much to my computers delight which gave me more of a subtle twist upward than a intense twist around itself again.

DSDN 104 - Another Iteration

This models appearance is very different to my others as it is just collecting all of those faces to create a form or as if something inner is pushing it out. I wanted to showing a lot of faces to create a form because ultimately a tornado picks u and carries a lot of things as it travels that becomes part of its form also.

DSDN 104 - More Detailed Models Arising

These 7 models show just how my model is starting it branch off from just solid faces. the faces are slowly spreading outwards and disassembling one another and toward the end showing the distortion as if something is inside impacting it outward.

DSDN 104 - 40th Model

This is my 45th model and my iterations are slowly getting more complex and distorted due to the push tool. This model is like something has impacted it from the core and it breaking it apart or distorting it from the centre as all the faces are being pushed out.

DSDN 104 - Textures

Experimented with some textures on a few of my models using a chipped/ cracked look. Played around with the setting to make sure you can actually see some of the effect but thought it looked quite cool as if it was wearing away.

This just another close up of the previous one showing the detail more in-depth.

Also tried using a cloud effect which i didn't like as much as the previous one just because of the lack of detail. I still like it quite cool with the different shades in the core of it.

DSDN 104 - More Lighting

Just wanted to put this up to show some of my fails i guess you would call it. Tried adding more lights and got bit too bright for what i was after with the closer ones being so bright you can't see some of the detail.

DSDN 104 - First 35 Iterations

Milestone! Reached my first 35 iterations of my model. My models have slowly developed into more complex detailed ones from the start showing more of a twist and impact as if it was being impacted from the core.

DSDN 104 - Lighting Trial

Missed a class last time so got Sunny to show me quickly the basics of lighting. I had a play around with it and like this because the shadows it gives and the effect that the models are actually bigger than they appear through the shadows.

This was another trial and more or less i stumbled onto this effect by accident to be honest. I added a light but actually put it slightly under the plane which caused it to reflect of my model which had a blue colour on them and reflect that colour back onto the ground.

DSDN 104 - Iterations

A quick look at my first 22 models in a group to see how they are progressing and developing.

DSDN 104 - 8th Model

I really liked the development this model took especially with the twists running down and around the core with it slightly taking a distorted type effect with the twist coming around from the back. After this I'm going to break away from the tornado look and bring in the distortion and abstract shape as if the tornado is changing its shape when picking things up.

DSDN 104 - 3ds Max More Iterations

I wanted to show this as i was playing around with different points and pulling them all over the place but though this is starting to fit in well with my words with keeping with a look of a tornado this tool gave me an opportunity to explore the other word distorted. I think it sort of resembles somewhat of a abstract looking tornado type model.

DSDN 104 - 3ds Max Trial

Well my first real play with 3ds Max and with the numerous tools you have at your mercy. I had a play with the twist tool mainly to see if i could recreate a sense of tornado relating back to my words as well as trying the wave tool as well.

DSDN 104 - Solidworks Model

After several trials and frustrating tools in solid works  i managed to get my final 3d model out of it based on my water drop/ impact picture and the reaction caused when the drop hit the glass of water.

The same model from a different angle

DSDN 104 - Sketches/ Drawings

These were initial drawings based on words such as climb, jump and ladder that we were given by Sunny.

These are drawings based on my chosen words Impact, Tornado, and Distorted. Impact trying to show the force when two things impact one another. Tornado showing the circular form that is created and the twisting action along with it and Distorted representing abstract and misconfigured forms just using basic shapes and lines.
